MEAL PREP MONDAY | BREAKFAST QUICHE

Breakfast what? Breakfast Quiche! (ke-ee-sh)

Quiche is a word derived from the german word ‘kuchen’ meaning cake. Midwest Muscle Report’s version of this original French dish will knock all the carbs out of the macros and provide you with an explosion of protein and healthy fats to start your day off!

What you’ll need…

Two packs of 16 oz. Turkey Sausage

One package of frozen spinach

One carton of egg whites

6 whole eggs

Directions…

Pre heat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit

In skillet, brown both packs of turkey sausage

While turkey sausage is cooking, pour egg white carton into 11×8 cooking dish

Crack and scramble the six whole eggs and pour into 11×8 cooking dish

Once turkey sausage is cooked strain the extra grease and fat

Add cooked turkey sausage to 11×8 cooking dish

Add frozen spinach (thawed) to cooking dish

Mix all ingredients together so they’re evenly spread throughout entire cooking dish

Cook for 40 minutes or until top is slightly browned

Quiche is typically made with a pie crust, bacon, and cheese; by eliminating the pie crust and cheese while substituting the bacon for turkey sausage, you get rid of the excess carbs and unhealthy fats by replacing it with more protein and healthy fats! This tasty recipe is perfect for a competitor in the off season or a healthy family looking for a new breakfast dish!
